What can AMRC members do to ensure the EU Data Protection Regulation does not stop valuable health research?

MEPs have agreed changes to the EU Data Protection Regulation which could hinder health research across Europe. But this isn't the end of the process; the Regulation will now be discussed by MEPs, the Council and Commission offering further opportunities to make changes.

Purpose 
The Medicines Discovery Catapult is the centre of national expertise for the discovery of medicines. The Medicines Discovery Catapult has been established as a private sector, industry focused, independent organisation to develop new approaches for the discovery and early development of new medicines helping to transform ideas into commercial products and services. The Catapult will develop and validate new ways of discovering new medicines and supporting the key UK strength in pharmaceutical, biotechnology and contract research organisations.

Myeloma UK is the only UK charity focused on the discovery, development and access to new effective treatments for myeloma. Our research priorities are to: implement a new approach to the treatment of myeloma where patients receive treatment tailored to their individual needs; support the most groundbreaking genetic research that will lead to more effective treatments for myeloma and ultimately find a cure; give myeloma patients a better quality of life by reducing the side-effects of treatments and improving health and wellbeing.
